Breaking Wind is popular on Hulu right now! Thanks for watching! If you haven't seen it and want to, you can find it and watch it under movies - comedy! ...Or just type the title into the search bar.
Hey dudes! I shot some things this week!
Firstly, I finished shooting my episode of Julian Camillieri & Vahe Gabuchian's web series, "The Audition Room". I look forward to being able to share it, once it is done and exists somewhere on the internet.
Also, I shot photos and a demo video for the post production company "Flawless FX". The demo video is all about showing the world what Flawless FX can do in post, so I can't wait to see what they do to me!
How, you ask? Well, just don't update your blog or get on the internet in general!
All Radiohead references and bad jokes aside, hello! I have updates!
This summer has been lovely and full of travel and watching friends get engaged (if you love love like I do, WATCH THIS SURPRISE PROPOSAL! We were all in on it. The video still makes me cry a little).
I've also been back to work recently. I worked as a guest star on a comedy web series called "The Audition Room", and I go back to finish shooting the episode I'm in next week. I would love to share more, but I don't want to give everything away, and I haven't had enough coffee yet to be witty, clever, or brief. =)
I also just worked on a game called Z. It's like "Magic: The Gathering" meets "Walking Dead", it's independent and crowd funded, and 100% awesome. It's a 2-4 player card game, and I'm gonna be on cards and stuff! You can learn more about the game here: Z. YEAR ONE. For this game, I got to learn combat techniques from a real Navy man! He also taught me how to do a choke hold so you just make someone pass out, AND how to get out of a choke hold. It was SO MUCH FUN. Here are pictures.
ALSO I learned to play four new songs on my little guitar - getting back into the swing of practicing every day. AND I've formed a for-fun summer time band with Kenny Norris of Portland, OR - hopefully we'll have something to share soon.
Wow! It's been a minute since I shared an update!
Castle happened! It was awesome! And now I can share some of the one million pictures I took. I hope you enjoyed the episode - I loved playing Ashley.
I've been keeping busy (in the good way, not the spin-your-wheels way!), and I joined a new acting class that I love. Which I am about to head out to. But before I do, here's too many pictures:
She said whaaaaat??
There's a neat write-up by Laura Prudom about our episode in the Huffington Post today, AND exclusive sneak peak footage. It makes me happy. Watch it & read the article
We made it, guys! We have lived through all of the doomsday predictions...at least that I'm aware of! So...who wants to make some new ones with me to freak people out with in a couple hundred years? Eh??
So, to start this year off I made myself do a little 2012 retrospective list, and it turns out I got to do kind of a lot of things last year. A few professional highlights included having my first feature film come out on DVD (Breaking Wind, Lionsgate!), and doing 2 comedy short segments on "Jimmy Kimmel, Live!". I booked my first horror film (which was also my first time playing a murderer!), and had an indie feature I'm in (Here Build Your Homes) go to it's first festival and win it's first award (Portland Independent Film Festival, Best Director). Here Build Your Homes also had it's friends and family screening here in LA, which I got to take my Mom to - that was lovely. Annnnd I got to work on "Castle"! I completed Clinic at Lesly Kahn, where I also took HotHouse Improv classes. I found my coach, whom I adore. Got hooked up with a great new commercial agency (yay LA Talent!).
It was actually a pretty busy year!
Things were good personally too, but this blog isn't about that. That's what facebook is for. Duh.
So thanks for being awesome, 2012. And thanks to all the people who made it that way.
2013 has started with a bang! I got to finish filming my episode of "Castle", which was just too much fun. Working is my favorite thing ever. AND it's pilot season! I got into a new scene study class. AND I'm trying to sing in public once a week...just to get over the nerves and get back into the swing of singing for people again (used to do it all the time - was a musical theater kid and a music major in college). So it's busy busy time. And I like that.
Happy 2013, people!
Yessir, Yes Ma'am!
I booked a role on the abc show "Castle"!
We started shooting the episode I'm in on Thursday, and it was SO much fun! I am so thrilled & thankful to get to work on this show!
I'll update all of internet-land with the air date when we get closer to it.
Here's a little reel I made for myself!
It's got clips girl! Wheeewww!
Alright, I guess I'm not feeling all that locuacious or creative this morning.
Aside from this updated little theatrical reel, I'm also now in two new classes! Learning! Yes!
Hope you enjoyed eating food you like with people you love! My thanks to you, for your support! Turkey flavored kisses! XOXO!
Side bar: Do you know who we have to thank for Thanksgiving? In part, President Lincoln, who officially made it a national holiday on October 3, 1863. BUT MOSTLY, we must thank a woman named Sarah Josepha Hale. She is the woman who wrote the poem "Mary Had A Little Lamb." She also lobbied 5 presidents over 17 years to make Thanksgiving a national holiday.
That is commitment.
Well, I like food, and I like my family. So THANKS, Sarah Josepha Hale.
...You learn something new every day.
Hey play girl! So I made this here reel, ya see? Eh...sorry...I'm a little off. I've never made a reel before, and my brain may be a little fried.
This obviously doesn't include all of the commercials I've done; I wanted to keep it short so I just chose three! Maybe I'll make an extended one with everything sometime when I feel like making an homage to myself. I shouldn't make that joke...because I might eventually do that.
I hope you like it! Thanks for watching!
